Building the Greenhouse!

Mike worked on flatting out this area a little better, and diggin' down with the bobcat, in preparation for our firepit!

We've been pulling out loads of roots! (This is only one pile...)

Some of the rocks we are going to use in the firepit area

Organizing the wood we've found around the property!

Wood cut to the correct lengths!

A wagon full of roots, and tree trunks cut and piled.

The ground leveled and the Greenhouse base built!

These are the windows we are going to use, which were left on the property when we bought the house.

We had to purchase some lumber for the project + cement for the firepit area!

The Greenhouse frame = three walls up! (Moving that back wall was an experience...)
All four wall frames up!

Now for the roof! This was something we could not do on our own, so we had to call in the muscle!

Judy, Chester, Cheryl and Keith arrived to help "raise the roof!"
Carrying the roof was probably the most difficult part!

Mike, Chester, Judy, Keith and Cheryl were all needed to move the roof frame and get it in place. -I took pictures!

They lifted one side of the roof frame onto a table.

Mike came up with the idea of mounting two 2X4s, that were a little longer than the height, to the peak of the roof, and using them as levers to make it much easier to lift the peak of the roof 9 feet and also allow Mike to make adjustments once up there.

Heave-Ho!

This plan worked so well! I can't believe how quickly they were able to get the roof up!

Greenhouse frame up and ready! Mike's simply making adustments! He's one smart, handy dude, with such a wonderfully supportive family!!! (The roof frame on the trailer is for our next project...)
