Our Romantic Vancouver Get-Away!

My first SkyTrain/Canada Line trip directly from the airport! So convenient!

Mike and I were not able to be together for our second anniversary. So Mike had the brilliant idea to celebrate a belated wedding anniversary in Vancouver. This is our room in the Marriott Pinnacle!

Our skyscraper view with the ocean trying to peek through!
On one of our many walk-abouts

Love the contrast of old, stone churches and buildings nestled alongside towers of glass...

...streets paved in traffic noise, lined in cherry blossoms!
Mike looked up and decided we should have dinner at the rotating restaurant!

The views were spectacular!

We watched the sun set...

....and it filled the restaurant with a soft, warm glow...
...just as our food arrived.

In the elevator on the way down!
We went for a stroll under the full moon.

The Terry Fox statues

Our hotel room's coffee set-up was very appreciated.

Game Night!!!

Last game of the season: Canucks vs Oilers

Go Canucks Go!

Waiting near the front of the line

Look how excited this guy is!

Pregame Awards

His second award of the night!
The Canucks won 3 - 0, winning the Presidents' Trophy!

We met up with Darren and a couple of his buddies right after the game, and walked to Yaletown Brewery. Darren kept his jersey on, showing true dedication to his team, and met up with another brave soul who flocked to him, probably for support!

Darren took us on a tour of the actual microbrewery, which had approximately fifteen different flavours of fresh beer tapped right into the bar.
A beautiful day for a stroll along the waterfront

The Olympic torch site, which reminds me of Superman's Fortress of Solitude!

Soakin' up the views, the warmth of the sun, and every second with my hubby!

Simply enjoying a relaxing day together!
On our last day in Vancouver we stashed our luggage in our hotel's comp. storage and went a-wanderin'.  We ended up back at Yaletown Brewery, where Tracie met us for a late lunch! Darren was able to slip out of the kitchen for a brief visit!

Tray and me!

It was very cool seeing Darren's name on the menu! Both Tracie and Darren were so generous making sure we didn't pay a cent for our meal!

Darren also gave us Yaletown Brewing T-shirts and hats for Josh, Jay, and the two of us! Thanks!!!

We said our good-byes...

and hopped back on the Canada Line (SkyTrain) headin' to the airport! An amazing trip! Thanks Vancouver for your balmy hospitality!
