Jay's Senior Basketball Season!

After beginning the season with practice, the Warriors were well prepared for their first games after Christmas! Jay with the ball!

Look at that reach as Sam attempts to block the ball with Jay at her side!

Jay bringing up the ball

We love watching her have fun!

She definitely enjoys playing the game!

Jay's determined to make sure #13 does not get that ball! Check out the score! 15-4 for the good guys!

Jay's ready!

Jay is a powerhouse on defence!!!

A pause in the game

Look at her move!

Occasionally, the game got a little rough.

Jay's open!

Jay is going to get that ball!

And they're off...

Jacy making a foul shot! The others are ready for the rebound if it doesn't go in!

Jay's made it down the court and about to make the shot!

Jay was passed the ball and the PC girls are standing in her way! Now what's she going to do?

Time out!

Jaylene won MVP of the game!!!
MVP even with an "oops" shoulder injury!!! She played an absolutely amazing game, but injured her shoulder near the end. This was only her first injury of the season. Later, she injured her ankle. But she never gave up and rarely complained. As soon as she healed up, she was playing again! Such a trooper!

Warriors huddle during the Super Hoops Finals held at Vanier!!! Go Warriors Go!!! They won!!!

Absolutely awesome, come from behind, sit on the edge of your seat basketball game to watch!!! Way to go Warriors!!! Three of the teams strongest grade 12 players were injured: Jay, Sam, and Quynh. This meant the other girls, some who were often on the bench, had to step up! And boy did they ever!!! What an intense, amazing game to watch!

Sorry Crusader, but you're probably not getting through Jay!

It's almost like Quynh can walk on air! You give her an opportunity at the net, it's rare she's going to miss the shot!

A huddle during time our, while the girls on the bench cheer them on!

Jacy making another foul shot

Jay: "The Crusaders are in my way... Nobody's open enough to pass to... Fine, I'll just make the shot from here!"

And the Warriors won the Gold Medal Game!!! The final handshake of Jay's last high school basketball game!

Quynh definitely deserved her award!

So glad Jacy was recognized for her amazing contribution to the team. She improved so much over the season! Impressive!

The Undefeated Team!

Looking happy! This is definitely a season to remember!!!

Told you Jay has acquired a taste for gold!

Love how Sam's, and the team's, personality shines through in this photo! Don't know Sam that well, but do know that she brings positivity and humour to the team!

Jay's Senior Volleyball Season - Fall 2013

Worshipping the volleyball gods!

Another timeout huddle just before the Warriors cheer!

Jay's ready to play!

She has her eye on the ball!

Jay serving in the semi finals! Go Warriors Go!!!       Although we attended most of the games, Mike and I did not take many photos during Volleyball Season this year. The team wasn't living up to their full potential and, at times, it could be frustrating to watch. However, Jay played beautifully, as usual, and managed to have fun with her teammates and keep her spirits up throughout the season! On the other hand, she was definitely looking forward to making up for the volleyball losses during the basketball season! Jay has acquired a taste for gold ;)

Long Service Award!

Attending my first Long Service Award Ceremony!

Mike couldn't come, but luckily Ryan McNally agreed to join me! I'm not sure how interesting it was for him, but at least he got a delicious meal out of it! Yum!!!

Yay! My 10 Year Long Service Award! (Although I am actually on my 13th year teaching, it still feels kind of nice to be recognized!)

Our November 2013 Vancouver Visit with Josh!

Mike and I decided to hop on a plane to Vancouver to meet up with Josh for the Remembrance Day long weekend! Josh took a ferry from Victoria to Vancouver and then met us at the airport. We Skytrained downtown, chose a restaurant for dinner, and the boyz ordered mojitos!
23rd floor baby!
Josh and me
Rowan met up with us too!
Rowan, Josh & Mike walkin' through the lights of the Sheraton! We headed to the hockey game (which I think was Rowan's first) and then took a cab to Tracie and Darren's for a much needed visit!
Darren had a variety of beer waiting and later made us a delicious meal, as usual! Such awesome hospitality!
Josh introduced Rowan to some of Tracie and Darren's pets!
Hangin' out with Darren and Tracie on their deck...
...sharing stories and laughs! It was so great to spend time with these two again, although the visit was too short.

Rowan made a good friend!
The following day, I met up with Sara and Shereen downtown and we went out for dinner. It was quite an explosive dining experience! Yum, volcano rolls!!!
On the last day of our mini-vacation, I went out on the town with the boyz!
We shopped, and Josh had to feed his craving for crepes along the way, of course!
Checkin' out the goods in Tom Lee's!
It was sad to say farewells to Josh, but we had a good visit!
Mike and I soaked up the remainder of the day simply walkin' about and enjoying Vancouver, before heading back to Whitehorse!
